 Overview of Service Ottawa Salus owned apartments are buildings which offer independent living environments with minimal community support for adults who have a severe and persistent mental illness. Programs are designed to provide tenants with the opportunity to develop skills necessary to be successful in maintaining their housing and integrating into the larger community.

Who We Serve Salus owned apartments serve adults, 16 years & older, living in the Ottawa area who:
are recovering from a mental illness
have a mental health support worker
are willing to work collaboratively with fellow residents, support worker, and community developer.
willing to meet tenant obligations
Goals of Service The goals of Salus owned apartments are:
increased independence
increased community integration
housing success
Support Staff On–site resource centres are staffed 30 to 35 hours per week or on an as needed basis. In addition, tenants can access Salus staff after business hours through the on-call service.
Services We Provide The services provided are based on psycho social and recovery approach with client choice and voluntary participation as key ingredients. The services include:
Community Development Services:
Crisis Intervention: Includes suicide intervention, de escalating tenant relation issues, assisting with tenant health & housing crises.
Ongoing Support: Includes talking to tenants, providing a safe place, assisting tenants with daily tasks & activities, and connecting tenants with supports (community or internal).
Community Development: Organizing tenant activities, developing self help or skill development groups, linking with community activities, promoting tenant run tenant meetings, encouraging tenants to build on strengths, exploring recreational activities and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Healthy Lifestyle promotion
Occupational Therapy Services:
Individual support in identifying and removing recovery & housing satisfaction barriers.
