Fisher Transitional Rehabilitation Home is a psycho social rehabilitation environment for 15 adults recovering from mental illness. It is a 12 month program with 24 hour support. The program helps people work towards their individual goals and provides the opportunity to develop the skills and supports necessary for a satisfying life in the community.

Fisher Transitional Rehabilitation Home serves adults living in Ottawa area who:

are recovering from a mental illness

depend heavily on the mental health system, particularly the hospital, for support

are ready to make changes in their lives

need a period of stabilization & learning before moving on to more independent living.

Services We Provide

The services provided are based on psycho social and recovery approach with client choice and voluntary participation as key ingredients. The services include:

rehabilitation/recovery services

rehabilitation/recovery planning

individual and group skills teaching -eg. budgeting, cooking, social skills etc.

family support

support and education for families in recovery

relapse prevention and wellness promotion

psychiatry and nursing consultation

healthy lifestyle education

recreation and leisure

follow-up support for 3-6 months after moving out
